Power Crunch Blueberry Protein Waffles

Who doesn’t enjoy waking up to the joyous smell of waffles being cooked for breakfast in the morning?  Better yet, blueberry waffles!

There’s something about that crackling of the batter in the waffle iron and the smell that fills the house as a result that makes waffles for breakfast such a wonderful treat.  Combine that with sweet syrup dripping down the sides and you’re in breakfast heaven!

We’ve taken that a step further by incorporating our ever nutritional Power Crunch Proto Whey protein powder into the classic healthy waffle batter.  And for all the skeptics out there who enjoy the classic (not so healthy) version of the breakfast waffle, we promise you this Blueberry Protein Waffle recipe is so tasty you won’t even know they’re better for you!  What better way to start your day than a healthy, nutritional, protein packed breakfast waffle?  Doesn’t get much better than that if you ask us!  Enjoy!

 

Power Crunch Blueberry Protein Waffles

1 scoop Vanilla Créme Proto Whey
2/3 cup ground oats
2 Tbsp. wheat germ
½ tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. stevia
2 egg whites
8 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon flavor
½ cup fresh blueberries
Pam Spray

Preheat a non-stick waffle iron lightly coated with Pam.  Be sure to follow the directions for your waffle iron.

In a medium bowl, mix together all dry ingredients.  Then add egg whites and water until batter is pancake consistency.  Add extract and flavor.  Lastly, fold in blueberries.  Be careful not to bruise them.

Pour batter in iron using a rubber spatula.  Close waffle iron to begin cooking and flip.  When lights indicate waffle is ready, flip back over, open and remove waffle from iron to plate.

Have plain or top with sugar free syrup.
